eBay Live sales, scanned off your Shopify stock.

For eBay Live sellers (collectibles, sneakers, apparel and more) who keep their inventory in Shopify.

Short answer

Scan the real item as each eBay Live sale happens. ScanStation takes that exact item off its Shopify “available” count and logs it with the sale number, so your Shopify stock stays right even when the eBay listing was generic.

eBay Live, Shopify, and the generic listing

eBay Live is eBay's livestream shopping for eligible sellers. Shopify sellers usually connect their store to eBay with a third-party app, which keeps listed items in sync. A generic listing on a stream is the exception: the order names the listing, not the specific item you picked on camera.

ScanStation records that item the moment it leaves, straight into Shopify.

How a eBay Live show runs with ScanStation

  1. A buyer wins your generic listing on eBay Live.
  2. You pick the real item on camera and scan its barcode.
  3. ScanStation takes 1 off that item's “available” count in Shopify, at your chosen location, and puts it on the packing list under the buyer's sale number.
  4. Scanned the wrong thing? Undo puts it straight back.
  5. When the show ends, print the packing list, download it as a CSV, or open your Google Sheet.

Sale numbers that line up

ScanStation numbers sales the way eBay Live counts buyers (1, 2, 3…), and you can correct the number mid-show. Bundles keep one sale number while one buyer takes several items, so the packing list matches who bought what.

Already using an eBay-to-Shopify sync app? Keep it.

an eBay-to-Shopify sync app is the right tool for products you list on eBay one by one: when one of those sells, its own stock updates. ScanStation is for the other kind of sale, the generic listing where you choose the item on camera.

Don't scan an item whose own eBay listing already updated Shopify, or it comes off your stock twice. Scan what you sold from a generic listing, and let the sync handle the rest.

eBay Live questions

How do I keep Shopify stock right when I sell on eBay Live?

For items sold from a generic listing, scan each real item as it sells. ScanStation takes 1 off its available stock in Shopify and records the sale number on your packing list.

Does ScanStation connect to eBay?

No. It connects only to your Shopify store. If you also use an eBay-to-Shopify sync app, keep it for individually listed items and don't scan those as well.

Which items does ScanStation work with?

Anything in your Shopify store with a barcode, from slabs and sealed product to sneakers and apparel. Items without a label can be sold through Find an Item.
